Privacy Policy

The following describes how I (“Berman Buys”) deals with personal information collected through it’s websites and through any direct marketing.

Personal information collected by me is handled in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1988 (‘Privacy Act 1988’).

I am a personal buyers agent who specialises in finding the best properties for my clients around the country. I was created to tackle homelessness and make buying property cheaper with an expert than doing it yourself.

I take the handling of personal information very seriously.

1. Collection of information

For every new client I keep records of your details including names, number, email and requirements on a secure private database, which is totally confidential and only used by me. I need this information to keep you up-to-date with new properties, particularly in the searching phase and to help me in understanding your ideal property.

Each client is given a username and password. I have these in a secure private database, which is purely collected so I can help you remember your password should you forget it.

Your information is never shared with any any external entities, unless you have given me permission to speak to a secondary service such as a mortgage broker or conveyancer. In that case I would only provide the bare minimum of information such as your name and contact details, so they can contact you.

I do not store Cookies or IP addresses. I try keep things as simple as possible. Tackling homelessness and making property cheaper to buy with an expert than yourself.

2. Storage and security of information

Any information is stored on a secure server which protects against the loss, misuse, interference, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure of that information.

3. Use and disclosure

Information collected by Berman Buys through automated and direct mechanisms will only be used for the purpose for which it was collected in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

In general, the third-party providers used by me will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. However, certain third-party service providers, such as PayPal, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information I am required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. For these providers, I recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

4. Access to and correction of personal information

You have a right to request access to, and correction of, your personal information held by me. You can ask for access or correction by contacting me and I must respond within 30 days. I will ask you to verify your identity before I give you access to your information or correct it, and I will try make the process as simple as possible.

5. Privacy complaints

If you with wish to make a complaint about the way I handle your personal information, please contact me. You are able to make a formal complaint under the Privacy Acts.

6. Breaches of security of Berman Buys systems

If you have an urgent concern that my IT system has been breached and personal information is not properly secure, please notify me immediately:
