Often you hear about how designers affect the value of properties and witness sale prices which far exceed what you thought was normal for the area.

This beautifully crafted 2 bedroom north facing penthouse apartment designed by award winning designers Durbach Block Jaggers, makes you think about how simplicity and design can totally change the value of a property. I particularly like the minimalistic design throughout and sparse use of furniture and styling to really show the beautiful craftsmanship and incredible spaces.

William Phillips and Michael Kirk of BresicWhitney were the marketing agents on the property. They certainly know how to photograph and present properties arguably better than anyone else around. I can tell you, I look at all types of properties around the country and BresicWhitney’s photos are really superb (I have no affiliation with them, I just like what they do!). Their style seems to capture the personality of spaces and help you envision the potential.

Based on the floorplan I have estimated the internal size of both levels equalling approximately 250m2. There is a 45m2 terrace and approximately 15m2 balcony and single car space. The property also has a lift.

On a $/m2 basis, the $3,700,000 price tag actually isn’t as exorbitant as one might initially think at est. $14.8k/m2. Doing a quick comparison to other recent sales of 501/23 Pelican St, Surry Hills (est. $15.1k/m2) and 303/20 Pelican St, Surry Hills ($15.5k/m2) the figure doesn’t seem outrageous.
